FAQ's

How are your products made?

All ceramics are made using wheel thrown and/or hand-built techniques. This means every piece will be unique.

Are your glazes and clay lead free?

All clay and glazes are completely lead free, non-toxic and food safe!!

Are your pieces microwave and/or dishwasher safe?

All pieces are both microwave and dishwasher safe. However, hand washing is very highly recommended to preserve the quality and integrity of your piece.

Are your glaze colors accurate on your website?

We strive to get the true glaze color to show up as accurately as possible on the website. Colors may show up slightly different depending on the device used to view the products.

What are seconds pieces?

Seconds are ceramics that have minor, cosmetic defects. To discourage waste in the studio we instead sell the carefully inspected seconds for a discounted price. Seconds only have defects that are cosmetic that do not interfere with the overall safety or integrity of the piece.

Refunds/Exchanges:

We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind. However, if your item has arrived broken or your order is wrong then I can issue a refund or send out a replacement. In that case, you must contact us via email within 48 hours of receiving the product with photos of it in the original packaging.

SHIPPING POLICIES

Packages are dropped off once a week. Package arrival times vary on the chosen shipping method. International orders can be expected to arrive within 2-4 weeks on average, sometimes less time, sometimes more.

Any overcharges on shipping will be refunded for both national and international orders.

DOMESTIC (U.S.) SHIPPING

U.S. packages are shipped via USPS. Once the package enters the hands of the shipping carrier we have no control over how long the package will take to get to your location. We are also not liable for lost, delayed, or stolen mail. Once your package has been shipped you will receive an email with the tracking number. Plan to have someone home on the designated day of arrival to ensure your package is not stolen. Packages may take up to a week to be sent out. Once the package is sent out it usually takes 1-5 business days to be delivered. Orders placed during the holiday season and other busy times may take longer.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

All international orders have carrier calculated shipping for the best possible international shipping rate! Prices usually start out a little higher, but the price goes up less as you start adding more items. Ordering in bulk is the best option for international shipping. International orders can take up to 4 weeks to be delivered after being sent out (usually less). Once the package leaves me and goes into the hands of the carrier I am not in control of how long the package takes to get to it’s location. I am not liable for delayed, lost, or stolen mail. Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number in an email. Make sure someone is home on the designated day of arrival to ensure your package does not get stolen.

HANA Ceramics is not responsible for any customs or VAT charges. Please keep in mind that once you receive your package the customer is liable to pay all customs and/or VAT/tax charges upon pickup if your country charges them.

Important: Once an order leaves my studio and is in the hands of the carrier, and is in the jurisdiction of the receiving country’s customs. I do not have any authority over an order when it is received by customs. Therefore, it is the buyer’s responsibility to contact the destination country’s postal service or customs to locate a package. Please check your email for a tracking number and file a claim if an item is held in customs for more than 45 days.

Some countries are not accepting orders from the U.S. currently. If you are in one of those countries and you place an order, the package will be sent out but then stop at customs. It will be in customs for a while before being sent back to the studio.
